Hi I am Demitra. Mama of two beautiful children, wife, birth and postpartum doula, massage therapist, and embodied facilitator of the Sacred Arts. I am in so in awe of every birthing mama, and I’m here to serve and support the family in the the unique and specific way they need

Background.

I was born and raised in Truckee California and always knew I’d be back. Growing up here was a huge blessing and I’m grateful to be following in my parents footsteps and raising my beautiful children here now.

Birth Work.

I am Certified through The Matrona as a Childbirth Educator. I trained with Whappio Diane Bartlett in 2015. As well as Traditional Doula Arts taught by Midwife Dr. T’Karima Ticitl in 2016. I received my Prenatal Yoga teaching certificate through the Yoga Garden SF in 2017, and am trained in prenatal massage.

My Birth Stories.

Both my children were born at home. My first born I had a doula and midwife and my doula turned my labor around immensely with her presence and care. My second child ended up being an unassisted birth, just me, my husband and my daughter’s God Mother. My experience as a doula as well as having given birth before, allowed the labor and delivery to be beautiful and easeful.

Relevant Studies.

In 2015 I attended school in NYC at the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences where I received an AA in Occupational Studies as well as 1500 hours hands on training for Massage Therapy. I am nationally licensed and practice both Eastern and Western techniques, and love to care for my Mamas with Prenatal Massage!

Why Hire A Doula?

Doula translates from Greek to “a woman who serves.” This service role is all about meeting you and your families needs. Through prenatal to postpartum care, your doula is there to support through connection, education, birth preparation, and deep listening. The ceremony of Birth and transformation into Motherhood is a major Rite of Passage. Being witnessed in the richness of the embodiment, can be hugely helpful in embracing the new roles each family takes on when welcoming a child.

Motherhood.

My greatest teachers are my children. The reason why I am so called to support families at this time. The future I am praying into, all families have the resources they need to embrace and get to know these little ones coming in, with ease and spaciousness. So that our children only know that reality. I am honored and humbled to be in the role as a Mama, and hope to be of service to thousands of families in my lifetime!
